17th Century Style Dutch Decoravtive Ceiling Painting

This ceiling painting is an adapted copy of a 17th century Dutch decorative ceiling.

The original ceiling existed hidden elsewhere in the clients home.

The composition of the painting stays as faithful to the original as possible, though slight changes had to be made to accommodate the dimensions of the new site.

Sections of the original painting that have been lost were created to complete the ceiling.

A hide glue medium was used in executing the ceiling. It is a combination of hide glue and heated water that is then mixed with dry pigments to make the paint.
